Netflix has announced that they have a total of 55 games, in development. Notably all 55 of these games are inspired by Netflixs movies and series.
We are excited to share the news that Netflix has established a game studio in Helsinki, Finland and has opened up the option for users to create accounts for their games.
In one year Netflix has taken steps to expand its presence in the mobile gaming market. They have also revealed their plans to continue developing games. Investors were informed through a letter from Netflix that they have increased their number of game studios by four with the addition of this studio.
It is worth highlighting that out of the 55 mobile games being developed Netflix has already released than 20 games to its users. Furthermore they have previously mentioned their intention to offer a 50 games by the end.
NETFLIX HAS MADE PROGRESS FOR MOBILE GAMES
Netflix has made progress towards its goals in the realm of gaming. It wouldn’t be surprising if least 30, out of the 55 games currently being worked on by Netflix are released by 2022. However it is important to note that only a small percentage of Netflix subscribers actually engage with these gaming offerings based on data.
As of August the number of downloads, for Netflixs games has reached 23 million. With, over 223 million subscribers Netflix Games seems to be flying under the radar at the moment. However this could potentially shift in the future with the introduction of games.
